Limits of Use

Research and screening, not yet validated. The platform demonstrates lake water-quality screening models. The models are not calibrated or validated against observations; validation is planned through a pilot.
Not engineering work product. Not prepared for a client, not independently reviewed, not sealed or stamped.
No reliance. Do not use the outputs for design, chemical dosing or treatment, operational, regulatory, permitting, insurance, legal or investment decisions. Site-specific questions need a licensed professional working from surveyed data.
Not a monitoring or warning system. Screening flags and template briefs are model output, not advisories. For water-quality or beach concerns, follow the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, the local public health unit and the conservation authority.
Labelled data. Values carry a data label: Sensor (Live) for automated instrument readings (none are connected at present); Observed for field samples and harvested monitoring records; Modeled for any model output; Placeholder (Unsourced) for values not yet traced to a source.
Independent. Not affiliated with or endorsed by any data provider, government body, conservation authority or lake association named on this site, or by any employer. Citing their data does not imply their review.
